Welcome to this website which has been curated to bring together my recipes, newsletter, shopping edits and social channels. I hope it will be a source of ideas, creativity and delicious recipes.
From a blog which started in my kitchen with my first baby, I have now been a food writer online for almost a decade. My recipes and their stories, hope to inspire seasonal home cooked food.

After having my daughter in 2014 and then my son in 2018, I found myself as a first time Mum in a new life which I hadn’t quite begun to get to grips with. Whilst on maternity leave from work and trying to get to grips with sleep and feeding routines I began to explore social media. I shared my food and recipes through a new and shiny instagram account Mimi’s Bowl. This account quickly became an outlet through which I was able to create content, post about family life and what I was cooking for my small children. It allowed me to connect with a whole online community of parents, caregivers and families all over the world.
Life changed in 2021, as the world emerged from covid, with the sudden death of my late mother Marion. Her loss was immeasurable to our family and in the aftermath of losing her I stopped cooking and found myself bereft of creativity. With time I found comfort in rediscovering her recipes and set myself the task of writing a small cookbook for friends and family collating the best of her wonderful cooking. As I worked through her cookbooks, notes and handwritten instructions I found comfort and her gentle guiding presence. I began cooking through the recipes of my childhood which bought back so many memories. The response was overwhelming in the support and kindness shown to me online: I was able to bring her food to a new audience in Recipes from my Mother’s Kitchen.
You will find an archive of recipes here from the last decade, they are shared with love from my kitchen table to yours. My passion for food writing shows no sign of slowing and I look forward to continuing to create and write recipes which honour my mother and reflect my life today.
